During my first visit to address the Southern California Plumeria Society I had the honor to stay at the home of Ken and Paula Ames. We had long talks, often for hours into the evening. Ken told me of his fear of the sea and though he loved the sea and was a surfer he couldn't get over the fear.

He then said that he often went out of his body during sleep and one day he flew to the sea where his uncle was sitting in the sand looking out at the ocean. He recognized himself as a small boy near his uncle, and trying to wake him but he was not responding. His uncle was dead. Ken realized in that out-of-body experience that his fear stemmed from this moment when he saw death. He flew home, went back into his body and the fear never returned.

Ken passed away of cancer last year. I will always remember him and Paula as special souls united in deep love and how they welcomed me with such kindness and hospitality.

Once again, these experiences are from people who had no previous knowledge of Sri Aurobindo and Mother. Another opportunity for each of us to be humbly grateful that we have been chosen for the work of transformation by the Supramental.
